Frequently Asked Questions
Psychotherapy
How long have you been doing this? I've been in the mental health field since 2017, and I've been providing psychotherapy for clients since 2022.
What is your speciality? I am a trained generalist, which means I have experience and training across a wide range of issues. This allows me to work with a wide range of clients on issues ranging from substance use, disordered eating, anxiety, trauma, to relationship challenges and more.
What is your modality? I take a psychodynamic approach, exploring how unconscious patterns and early relationships shape the ways we relate to ourselves and others. I also consider how cultural background and lived experiences influence our sense of identity, belonging, and relationships.
Do you work with children and families? No, I only work with adults in individual therapy.
Do you offer in-person therapy? Yes, I offer in-person therapy on Thursdays in South Philadelphia.
How often would we meet? While weekly sessions are common, I also offer twice weekly sessions to support deeper exploration of relational patterns and unconscious processes.
How do I get started? You may fill out this form so that we can schedule a complimentary 20-minute consultation. If it feels like a good fit, we'll agree on a time for our initial session and I'll send a link to connect to the client portal where you can fill out the necessary paperwork.
Fees
What is your psychotherapy fee? For self-pay, it is $175 per session. It’s a bit old school, but I take either cash or a check at the end of each month.
Do you take insurance? I take Aetna and United. For those with PPOs, I provide superbills (a detailed receipt) for insurance reimbursement.
How does a superbill work? Your pay me directly. I give you a superbill at the end of each month. You submit it to insurance. Your insurance (potentially) reimburses part of the cost.
How will I know if my insurance takes superbills? You will have to call your insurance company and ask the following questions:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
Is prior authorization required?
Do I need to pay an annual deductible first?
What is the reimbursement rate?
Are there any session limits per year?
What information is needed on the superbill?
How do I submit the superbill (online, mail, app)?
How long does it take to be reimbursed?
